GIONEE P4 STOCK KITKAT ROM FLASHING GUIDE

So you bought the Gionee p4 straight off the shelf but fortunately or unfortunately it came out straight out of the pack with the Jellybean 4.2.2 version( which is okay by the way if i must say but not perfect) meaning you want more from your phone since others are already now on Kitkat 4.4.2 version so why not you too (as of the time of editing this post we now have the Lollipop OS in vogue)..

So if you have the Jellybean version 4.2.2 running on your android phone, dont be despair because you can easily update/upgrade the phone to Kitkat versin within minutes and yet still running on the \Stock rom by gionee (for those who dont really like or afraid in using a Custom rom on their phones but prefer the real thing from the phone manufacturers..

Here is a step by step guide that will aid you in easy steps to flash the Gionee P4  Stock Kitkat rom..

**A gionee p4 recovery.img file

**The Gionee P4 Stock kitkat rom flashable zip file..

**Recvery tools app OR Mobilencle tools app to flash the recovery.img

**Last but not the list, the patience and knowledge of using clockwork mode recovery.

DOWNLOAD THE GIONEE P4 RECOVERY.IMG HERE:   

DOWNLOAD THE FLASHABLE STOCK KITKAT ROM FOR GIONEE P4 HERE:

DOWNLOAD RECOVERY TOOLS HERE: 

Once all the applications and files are already put in place we can now go ahead with the rom flashing proper..

NOTE: Your phone has to be rooted before you can finally flash the rom so why not go ahead and download the Kingroot latest english version app and easily root your phone in a matter of minutes.

PROCEDURE>>>>>>

*Place the downloaded recovery.img file in the root of your SD card(meaning not inside any foder)

*Open Recovery tools app and click on Recovery From Storage it will go into the root your SD card showing all files and folders present, so you can just scroll down to find where the recovery.img  you placed is and click on it.

*You will get a prompt asking if you wanna flash recovery to phone.. Choose Yes and also choose yes whenever it ask to Reboot phone in Recovery 

NOTE: To make things easier ensure that the Gionee P4 Stock Kitkat flashable rom is already placed beforehand in either the root of the SD card or a folder in the SD card than can be easily accessed or remembered.

ONCE YOU ARE IN THE CLOCKWODE MODE RECOVERY SCREEN...

**You can Navigate or move up and down with the up and down volume keys..

**Choose/Confirm your selection with the Power button.

**Wipe User data/ Factory Reset

**Wipe cache partition

**Go to Advance option and wipe dalvic cache alongside the Battery stat

**Go back to the main menu of The clockwork mode recovery and select the option of Install Zip from SD card..

**Locate where you placed the stock kitkat rom flashable zip.

**Click on Install

**Then wait while the rom automatically starts installing(although some times you might need to follow the onscreen confirmation instructions before the rom finalizes installation..

After installation is complete the phone will reboot by itself and might take a while for it to finally boot to the homescreen of the new kitkat rom (but dont fret and just wait it out even while its showing the phone logo)

Once its finally done. You should see the new interface of your newly installed kitkat rom on your Gionee P4...

NOTE: You can also follow the same procedure in flashing a custom rom to your phone once you have the flashable zip of the rom you desire..

And thats basically it... enjoy the new feel of your android os version
