STEPS IN FLASHING A NEW ROM TO GIONEE P2[ and basic flashing steps for other phones]

One of the best part of using an android fone is the ability to pimp your phone to your own taste and basically take charge of the phone "admin resources"...

Getting stuck with a follow-come rom  can be frustrating sometimes.. Especially when some features you like are missing or the ram management just ain't up to par.. 

What do you do in this case... ? Simple...  Flash a new rom.. :) 

Lucky enough for gionee  p2 users... We have this rom more than enough even an hybrid rom such as my favorite so far.. The JellyMixi rom by Emrul chowdhury.. 

It's so cool.. Bright.. Smooth... Great ram management even for a 512mb ram fone... 

Without much ado...  

STEPS IN FLASHING A CUSTOM ROM 

* Root your phone with framaroot or use any of the rooting apps available on google. examples are kingroot, baiduroot, rootmaster, Vroot etc.

*have a recovery file in order to backup your current rom and also flash new rom

There are 3 recovery mode files available for p2 luckily.. 

The popular clockworkmode recovery [cwm]

#Second one is a touch interface known as Cannibal Open Touch Recovery [COT]

Use any of the above three mode to backup your current rom  before attempting to flash a new one.. . 

.... Flashing proper procedure.. 

#1. Charge battery to Full.

2. Backup user data using Titanium backup.

3. Download the ROM you want to install and pasteit

in the root of your SD Card.

4. Boot into Custom Recovery using Vol– and

Powerkey.

**PROCEDURE USING CARLIV TOUCH

RECOVERY (RECOMMENDED METHOD)

5. Click wipe menu

6. Click wipe all data - Preflash

7. Click Factory Reset

8. Click Wipe Cache

9. Click Wipe Dalvic Cache

10. Press Back Soft Key

11. Click Install zip from SD card

12. Click Choose Zip, to browse SD card. Then

Swipe on sky blue color place, which is on your bottom

right hand corner, to see all your folders and zip files on

SD card. NOW SELECT ROM.ZIP.

-----Then wait for installalation to finish---

9. Click on Reboot. | DONE |

**PROCEDURE USING CWM

RECOVERY

5. Wipe User data/ Factory Reset

6. Wipe Cache.

7. Go to Advance options and Wipe Dalvic Cache and

then wipe Battery status.

8. Now return to the main menu of custom recovery,and

Select Install zip from SD card.

9. Click on Install from SD card and then select the

ROM you downloaded, and then select Install.

10. Wait till the ROM finishes Flashing then Reboot

your phone. The first Reboot may take a longer time, so

wait for it. Then Enjoy the new ROM!
